The report says that 2,600 people have been charged in three cases in the last two days and at least 167 people have been arrested by the police in connection with the violence surrounding the NCP program in Gopalganj.

Many families claim that those arrested include children, schoolchildren, laborers, rickshaw pullers, water suppliers, and ordinary people with no political affiliation.

Even 16-year-old teenagers, students going to buy medicine, schoolchildren going out to eat jhalmuri during exams, workers returning home after work, or elderly people going to have tea have been detained.
